If you venture out into the sand surrounding the fingers, an unusual looking fish can frequently be found perched like a space shuttle on his pectoral fins.

As long as we are talking about strange looking fish, another different looking inhabitant of these reefs is the Flying gurnard. They can sit camoulflaged like a stonefish with t here pectorals tucked in, but often you'll see them slowly flying over the bottom like a brightly colored glider.
