Course Highlights: The standard curriculum for the PADI Rescue course requires less than 30
hours of instruction. However, that's not what you'll get here at DIVE USA. Our course is six
days long for a total of 48 hours. In addition, you'll participate in 8 dives, including a unique
training exercise on "night rescue."
You'll also receive enhanced training in diving medicine and
emergency-management developed by Dr. Dudley Crosson, our Director
of the School of Emergency Medical Education. Among other skills,
you'll learn advanced oxygen administration procedures and how to conduct a filed neurological
exam. Medic First Aid certification, which takes place the day before the
course begins, is also included in the tuition.
Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water certification or its equivalent.
(NOTE: Although we encourage you to have this certification before you apply, we know that's
not always possible. For those who need it, we'll schedule a PADI Advanced or Advanced Plus
course prior to each Rescue course. As this is done by special arrangement, please let us know if
you need this training as soon as possible.)
